From August 11–15, 2025, Groningen will once again host the legendary KEI-week – the biggest introduction week in the Netherlands. Thousands of first-year students will get to know their new city, discover student life, and connect with each other through a packed program full of activities, culture, and nightlife.
And this year, I had the honor of being part of it in a very special way.
One of the absolute highlights of my summer was performing as a DJ at both the KEI-parade and the closing party on the mainstage. Imagine thousands of new students flooding the streets of Groningen, an incredible atmosphere, and an energy that only KEI-week can bring.
Being behind the decks for these events was nothing short of unforgettable — the parade filled the city with music and celebration, and the mainstage finale was the ultimate climax to a week of discovery and connection.
The largest introduction week in the Netherlands – open to all incoming students of the University of Groningen and Hanze University of Applied Sciences.
A chance to connect – new students explore the city, student associations, culture, and the many opportunities Groningen has to offer.
Group activities – students are divided into KEI-groups led by experienced student mentors (the KEI-leaders).
A spectacular opening party to kick things off.
Concerts, sports, cultural activities, and late-night parties throughout the city.
The legendary final mainstage event – where I had the privilege to perform and help close KEI-week with an unforgettable celebration.
👉 For me, KEI-week 2025 wasn’t just about music — it was about being part of the heartbeat of Groningen’s student culture. Playing at the parade and especially on the mainstage for the final party was an incredible honor, and I can’t wait to bring even more energy to future events. 🚀
